What is Prostitution?
Women involved in prostitution have a much higher risk of domestic and sexual violence. The rape, assault or abuse of a prostitute is as much as crime as it is to anyone else. Women involved in prostitution are also more likely to have been abused in the past by family members or partners. Women involved in prostitution can access a number of services that help them with their specific issues such as substance misuse or assist them in escaping prostitution.

Street-based workers - An evening outreach service is delivered within the 'red light' area of Cardiff, providing condoms health advice and small snacks. The outreach provides an opportunity for trusted relationships to be developed with sex workers, where support needs for change can be explored.
